Dr Selinger is a British trained endoscopist and has full accreditation for diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy. He has practised independent endoscopy since 2008. He provides excellent technical skills but also focuses on patient comfort. He realises that many patient find the thought of endoscopies stressful. Keeping the patient at ease and well informed at all steps is therefore a very important part of his practise.
Reflux disease / dyspepsia
Christian Selinger has looked after patients suffering from indigestion, heartburn and acid reflux for many years. His care focusses on a full assessment and a holistic approach involving diet, lifestyle and medication.
Dr Selinger has received in depth training in treating simple and complex nutrition problems at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan and at the acclaimed nutrition unit at Salford Royal Hospital.
Functional bowel disorders / irritable bowel syndrome
Christian Selinger has been looking after patients with irritable bowel syndrome and other functional disorders since 2006. He also gained experience in the assessment and treatment of complex patients under Prof Whorwell – an international expert - at Wythenshawe Hospital. Dr Selinger has expertise in nutritional treatments, lifestyle interventions and medical treatments.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Dr Selinger has an interest in IBD and has gained expertise at several English centres of excellence (Manchester Royal Infirmary, Salford Royal Hospital). His fellowship in Sydney provided him with unique training in an international centre at the forefront of IBD treatment and research. Dr Selinger is the lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Leeds Teaching Hospital and currently serves on the British Soceity of Gastroenterology IBD committee.
